Local JCEF monies are legislatively appropriated funds pursuant to A.R.S. §12-113 to train court personnel; improve, maintain, and enhance the ability to collect and manage monies assessed or received by the courts; improve court automation, improve case processing or the administration of justice, and for probation services. Additionally, these funds are used for Court Security Enhancements.
Applications are not required for projects or purchases of $2,500 or less. Projects cannot be split into smaller amounts to avoid the application requirement for projects exceeding $2,500. Courts are required to maintain all spending plans and expenditure documentation. Additional information on the use of Local JCEF funds may be found in ACJA Section 5-102

Municipal Fill the Gap monies are legislatively appropriated funds pursuant to A.R.S. §41-2421(K) to improve, maintain, and enhance the ability to collect and manage monies assessed or received by the courts; improve court automation, improve case processing or the administration of justice. Additional information on the use of Municipal FTG funds may be found in ACJA Section 5-107

Purpose:  The purpose of the criminal case processing and enforcement improvement fund is to improve the processing of criminal cases in the superior courts and the justice courts and the enforcement of court orders, including the collection of court-ordered fees, fines, penalties, assessments, sanctions and forfeitures. State aid for the courts fund and the local assistance funds provides state aid to the superior court, including the clerk of the superior court, and justice courts for the processing of criminal cases.

 NOTE:  This is not an application for Municipal Courts, there is a separate application in the portal for municipal courts.

The Traffic Case Processing Fund is established in ARS §441-2421 (K) to administer the Defensive Driving Program and to improve traffic case processing. 

A.R.S. § 28-3398 – to administer the Defensive Driving Program and to improve traffic case processing. Funds are available on a matching basis for a countywide Field Trainer position in each county up to a maximum award of $25,000, for salary, ERE, and other related costs.

Field Trainers provide essential business processing, system support and on-site training for every ACAP limited- and general jurisdiction court. See Administrative Order No. 2000-84.

These funds are designated to assist with the timely reduction of case backlogs within the Arizona Judicial Branch resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  Funds cover the processing of criminal cases, juvenile delinquency cases, orders of protection, injunctions against harassment, and any other domestic violence matters. 


Arizona Supreme Court
